My Style

It is important to me that clients feel comfortable with me and the therapeutic process. I accomplish this by listening empathetically, nurturing collaboration, and providing compassionate feedback during sessions. I love to have check-ins with clients to make sure they are getting what they need from me and to make any adjustments to therapeutic goals. I bring my whole self to sessions, including a sense of humor at times, because I don't think therapy has to be a stuffy place.

My Specialities / Area of Focus

My areas of focus are anxiety, depression, coping with life transitions, difficulties in relationships and behavior modifications. I work with adults and teens. I am primarily trained in cognitive behavioral therapies, and I also utilize a humanistic approach to help clients find a sense of self, explore feelings, and focus on strengths.

What I Want You To Know About Therapy

Therapy can be a difficult process to begin, but once you commit it can have enormous positive impacts in many areas of your life.

Professional Background

I earned my Masters of Social Work from the University of Missouri and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked as a social worker for over 10 years and have a wide range of experience and training including working in community mental health, with survivors of sexual and domestic abuse, and with people living with severe mental illness. Prior to being a therapist, I worked at a non-profit providing services to people in the midst of crisis. I have been trained in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, mental health first aid, suicide prevention, and cognitive behavioral therapies.
