My Style

I believe in being direct, but only with compassion and deep respect for the uniqueness of each client’s story and struggles. I also bring a fine appreciation of the challenges and occasional absurdities of life, and use humor and a depth of knowledge, to acknowledge the pain, celebrate the wins, and guide clients to greater self-understanding and mastery to live their life in functional and fruitful ways. I am blessed to possess a deep reservoir of skills and understanding, gained through my natural gifts of discernment and curiosity, as well as years of management and professional work experience. Together, they allow me to join meaningfully with clients as they explore the obstacles preventing them from living a joyful and fulfilling life.

I have a multi-dimensional style – using a variety of treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems, and others - to assist you in reaching your goals. I often have clients who return later during a new life development, to acquire new understanding and tools to address this next challenge. New and returning clients are a great honor, and I look forward to engaging in a counseling relationship with you soon!

What I Want You To Know About Therapy

I believe deeply in the wisdom of my clients and that my job is to walk alongside them to light the way, and to teach tools that equip clients to navigate successfully on their own.

Professional Background

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with over two decades of experience providing individual, couple, and family therapy to clients in numerous settings, including military, corporate, hospital, community-based, and private practice. I came to the practice of psychotherapy as an intentional mid-life career change, obtaining my master’s degree in Counseling in 2001 from Illinois School of Professional Counseling, Chicago.
